The judges got to read what was posted on the forum. The idea being that the beginning of the story should grab the readers interest straight away, and be enough to judge how much you wanted to read the rest of it.
The judges will get a free copy of the Christmas issue, so never fear they will get to enjoy all the whole stories ;)

That's a very interesting way of doing things. Leaves a lot of room for objectivity. More contests should be set up like that! :D
